About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lodge Manager or Management Couple to join our luxury safari lodge in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. As a hands-on, guest-focused leader, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional safari experiences and overseeing daily lodge operations. Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience & Service Excellence
• Deliver outstanding, personalised guest experiences throughout the guest journey
• Read guests effectively and anticipate needs with emotional intelligence and initiative
• Maintain consistently high 5-star service standards across all guest touchpoints
• Build strong guest relationships and encourage repeat visitation
- Lodge Operations Management
• Oversee daily lodge operations across all departments
• Supervise FOH, Housekeeping, and general lodge coordination
• Ensure smooth communication between departments for seamless guest flow
• Maintain lodge presentation, cleanliness, and operational standards
- Food & Beverage Oversight
• Oversee Head Chef to ensure consistent quality control of meals
• Conduct F&B stock takes and assist with inventory management
• Place and manage food and beverage orders
• Ensure guest dietary requirements and expectations are met
- Administration & Reservations Support
• Handle basic administration and operational coordination
• Manage reservations oversight and guest account checks
• Verify guest bills and ensure accuracy of accounts
• Use reservation systems effectively (training can be provided if needed)
- Staff Leadership & Team Management
• Lead and motivate lodge staff in a positive, hands-on manner
• Maintain strong working relationships across all departments
• Support staff development and maintain discipline and service culture
• Ensure team alignment with guest experience standards
Requirements
• 5–10 years’ experience in a luxury lodge or 5-star hospitality environment
• Proven track record in stable employment (not a job hopper)
• Strong guest service orientation with excellent people skills
• Good administrative ability and operational awareness
• Experience with reservations systems and guest billing checks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to oversee food quality and basic F&B operations
• High emotional intelligence and ability to read guests effectively
