About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Demi Chef De Partie to join our high-end Wine Estate restaurant in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional cooking experiences that meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain health, hygiene and safety requirements
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Keep the area of responsibility clean and tidy at all times
- Inform the Head chef on ingredient orders
- Prepare mise-en-place always freshly and on time
- Correctly garnish, portion and present dishes according to prescribed serving dish and manner
- Optimize the cooking process
- Maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation with colleagues
Requirements
- Grade 12 Culinary Certificate / Diploma
- Preferably 2-3 years previous experience as a Demi Chef De Partie
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills
- Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments
- Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
- Honesty, Flexibility and Accountability
- Friendly, helpful and outgoing
- Professional manner and attitude
- Punctual & self-disciplined
- Extreme attention to detail
