About the Role
The New Business Development Rep will be responsible for growing the customer base and hire revenue across the broader Helderberg area by building relationships on sites, opening new accounts, reactivating dormant customers, and converting opportunities into confirmed hires.
Key Responsibilities
- Morning Branch Support: Supporting the Sales Team with rush hour traffic and assisting with quick quotes and planning follow-ups.
- Field Activity and Site Visits: Planning and executing daily site visits and customer calls across the Greater Helderberg region.
- New Business & Account Opening: Identifying and approaching new customers on sites and in key commercial areas, and assisting them to open accounts with accurate details and documentation.
- Existing Customers & Reactivation: Maintaining relationships with existing customers and identifying additional opportunities, re-engaging dormant customers and capturing reasons for lost business.
- Quotes, Orders & Handover: Issuing quotes and recommendations aligned to customer needs, following up quotes to convert to confirmed hires, confirming key order details and handing over clearly to operations.
Requirements
- Self-driven and organised with reliable follow-through
- Basic technical understanding of hire equipment (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Comfortable using mobile devices, Excel-based logs and email
- Minimum: Matric (or equivalent)
- Valid drivers licence
- Sales/customer-facing experience required

Salary & Benefits
- The role operates on a monthly On-Target Earnings (OTE) structure (base salary activity bonus commission) per the applicable incentive policy.
- Performance is assessed using agreed KPIs (e.g., visits, quotes, new accounts, turnover, reactivation, conversion trend), along with reporting quality and values alignment.
Working Hours / Structure / Incentives and Performance Measurement
- 07:00 – 17:00: Flexibility required to align with site access and operational needs
- 07:0009:00 at Strand branch (morning rush support), thereafter field activity
- Saturday work required on a rotational basis (typically 12 Saturdays per month)
- The role operates on a monthly OTE structure, with performance assessed using agreed KPIs.
