Job Description

Role Purpose The Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall marketing strategy, execution, and performance of the shopping centre to ensure all key business and marketing KPIs are achieved or exceeded. The role focuses on driving customer engagement, increasing foot traffic and turnover, managing marketing budgets, building tenant relationships, and leading the marketing team to deliver high-impact campaigns, events, and promotional activities. Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy and Campaign Management Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy for the shopping centre Drive marketing initiatives aligned with centre objectives and business performance targets Plan, coordinate, and oversee marketing campaigns, events, promotions, and activations Monitor campaign performance and ensure marketing KPIs are achieved Research market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to support strategic planning Ensure marketing activities remain innovative, relevant, and customer-focused Budget and Financial Management Manage and control the marketing budget effectively Monitor marketing expenditure, invoices, and creditor processes Ensure cost-effective execution of campaigns and promotional activities Track return on investment and campaign performance metrics Brand, PR and Customer Experience Management Manage public relations and customer relationship management initiatives Oversee creative briefs and approve all marketing and promotional material Ensure high standards for exhibitions, events, promotions, and centre activations Manage customer and tenant queries, complaints, and feedback professionally Drive customer engagement and enhance the overall shopping centre experience Stakeholder and Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, service providers, and stakeholders Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the marketing department and other business units Engage regularly with Centre Management and operational teams to ensure alignment on centre objectives Maintain positive relationships with shoppers and customer care teams Leadership and Team Management Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team to ensure productivity and performance Ensure team members are motivated, informed, and aligned with business objectives Conduct effective supervisory and people management functions Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development within the department Reporting and Administration Prepare and present marketing and operational reports as required Ensure accurate and timeous communication with internal and external stakeholders Maintain effective administrative and organisational processes within the marketing department Ensure crisis communication is handled effectively and professionally Role Requirements Matric Certificate Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field is essential Minimum 3 5 years marketing experience Retail or shopping centre marketing experience will be advantageous Strong marketing background with proven campaign management experience Knowledge of marketing principles and strategic marketing practices Experience in advertising, public relations, online and social media marketing Experience planning and executing events, promotions, and activations Understanding of customer engagement and retail marketing environments Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills Excellent leadership and team management capabilities Strong project management and organisational skills Excellent negotiation and persuasive communication skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Strong financial and budget management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Strong attention to detail and administrative abilities Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities Key Competencies Customer Service Orientation Planning and Organising People Development Strategic Analysis Innovation Presentation Skills Oral and Written Communication Attention to Detail Additional Requirements Availability to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and after-hours when required Should you not receive a response within 10 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
