About the Role
A well-established engineering and manufacturing group in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, is seeking an experienced Senior Cost & Project Controls Consultant to take ownership of costing, project controls, management reporting, estimating, and operational financial analysis across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve costing models, labour recovery rates, and machine billing structures
- Analyse job profitability, margins, overhead recovery, and operational efficiencies
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Implement and maintain practical cost control procedures and reporting systems
- Support estimating and quotation validation for engineering and fabrication projects
- Improve ERP/job costing system governance, reporting accuracy, and data integrity
- Monitor WIP, utilisation, operational performance, and project profitability
- Identify process improvements, waste reduction opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Finance, Cost & Management Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Cost Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years’ experience within engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong experience in job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and project reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capability
- Experience with ERP/job costing systems
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
