About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lodge Manager to join our 5* luxury Game Lodge in the Waterberg area. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the exceptional guest experience, maintaining operational standards, and driving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the HOD team for the lodge in all operational, health and safety and staff welfare functions
Ensuring that the guest experience is of excellent quality and that guests’ expectations are met
Maintaining operational standards across all departments
Assigning the HOD team to daily tasks, organising workflow, ensuring the team understands their duties and the standards expected
Monitoring the HOD teams’ productivity and providing constructive feedback
Ensuring financially optimal operation of the lodge, controlling expenses, and saving costs where possible
Interacting with guests in a professional manner, representing the lodge as a whole, and resolving guest complaints speedily and professionally
Reporting to the General Manager on a regular basis regarding all aspects of the lodge
Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for staff well-being
Sharing information with management teams and departmental teams to avoid miscommunication and ensure smooth operations
Building and maintaining relationships within the community, with suppliers, and contractors
Upholding and communicating the vision, mission, and business ethics of the management company

Requirements

Grade 12

A formal hospitality qualification

At least 2 years of experience in a 5* Game Lodge / Boutique Hotel in a Management role

Good operational knowledge of all departments

Knowledge and understanding of South African Labour Laws

Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Act and requirements
