Job Description
A reputable construction firm specializing in heavy machinery and infrastructure projects, is currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their dynamic team based in Wellington. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a passion for working with heavy-duty and agricultural equipment.
Responsibilities
-
Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on diesel-powered machinery
-
Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on heavy construction, mining, and farming equipment
-
Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency
-
Repair and overhaul diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and drive trains
-
Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards
-
Support project teams with on-site mechanical assistance when required
Requirements
-
Red Seal Certification in Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (EEM) or Diesel Mechanic Diploma
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in construction or agricultural sectors

Proficient in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
-
Hands-on experience with mining, heavy machinery, and farming equipment

Strong understanding of preventative maintenance procedures
-
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
