Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team in Wellington, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the financial and contractual aspects of civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and time constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for civil construction projects
- Analyse drawings and specifications to accurately estimate quantities and costs of materials, labor, and equipment
- Monitor project progress and expenses to ensure adherence to budget
- Prepare and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
- Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments
- Manage procurement processes and submit timely payment requests
- Prepare and submit progress reports to project stakeholders
- Resolve disputes and claims related to project costs
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil construction industry
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Valid driver’s license
