Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients remote finance team, supporting a portfolio of US-based and international entities. This role is responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger management, month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working independently across time zones in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. Strong NetSuite experience is essential. Core Accounting Responsibilities Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger Own and execute month-end and year-end close processes Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Reporting & Financial Analysis Prepare internal management reports and supporting schedules Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities Support budgeting and forecasting activities where required Provide clear explanations of financial movements to non-finance stakeholders Systems, Controls & Process Improvement Maintain and administer accounting systems, with a strong focus on NetSuite Ensure accurate coding of transactions across multiple entities or cost centres Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls Maintain clear and auditable financial documentation Compliance, Tax & Audit Support Support external accountants with tax filings and statutory submissions Assist with audit preparation, schedules, and auditor queries Ensure financial records meet regulatory, statutory, and internal requirements Support internal control reviews and compliance initiatives Required Skills & Competencies Strong practical knowledge of GAAP (cash and accrual accounting) Proven hands-on experience with NetSuite (mandatory) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote, US-aligned working environment Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Candidate Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 45 years experience in an accounting or finance role Experience supporting US or international clients preferred Prior experience working remotely or in a multi-entity environment advantageous Working Environment This is a fully remote role based in South Africa, aligned to US business hours. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection, a professional home office setup, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
