Hire Resolves client in the Engineering industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Surveyor in Wellington, WC.
Responsibilities:
PlanningPlan and submit weekly planning (site visits) according to priority and requirements to Contracts Manager.
Plan annual in-house training days with survey students and others as required.
Plan and manage (Issue, Inspections, Services, Record keeping and Repairs) all survey equipment (Cable detectors, Troxlers and Lasers)
Man-Management
Ensure that team leaders and operators have all the information prior tostarting the work process.
Train students and tachi-sighters to company standards.
Evaluate student surveyors and correct short-comings.
Ensure that healthy / open communication take place up- and down wards.
Responsible for horizontal and vertical alignment of services installed iscorrect.
Disciplinary action when needed.
Plant Management
Responsible for the safekeeping, accuracy and maintenance of instruments and other tools issued.
Check instruments on a regular basis and report.
Report damages or problems to Contracts Manager.
Surveying
Check all benchmarks, survey beacons and existing connection points for accuracy.
Provide sufficient benchmarks for accurate setting out of the works.
Report any discrepancies from plan or existing information.
Check levels of previous day, especially where work has to continue.
Keep a rest of new developments and techniques.
Check and observe level and line during construction.
Report any deviations immediately.
Responsible for horizontal and vertical alignment of services installed is correct.
Cost Management
Measure work daily and complete survey and daily costing sheets when applicable.
Allocate correct cost codes for fuel and labour when applicable.
Contractual Management
Responsible for setting out accurately according to drawings, specification and documentation and Company standard.
Responsible for the plan register and any updates.
Responsible for as-built information.
Survey all existing ground levels and record and report discrepancies.
Record all survey information according to Company standard.
Ensure that quality standards are upheld.
Ensure that safety procedures are followed.
Use correct line of communication with Engineers.
Public Relations
Ensure Healthy relationships with Engineers, Client and Public.
Be aware of public access and particular requirements of the contract.
Report potential problems to Site Agent regarding access, etc.
