Job Summary

Job & Company Descriptions A manufacturing company is currently seeking an Associate Financial Controller to join their finance team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and submitting monthly reports on the companys financial performance, variable costs, and staff expenses. Provide timely updates on sales and overheads to the Financial Controller. Manage and supervise subordinates, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Inventory. Support the Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc projects aimed at improving organizational efficiency. As an Associate Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following: Manage and provide financial services to various departments within the organization. Oversee AP, AR, FAR, CB, TB, and Petty Cash. Monitor depreciation, CAPEX, and asset management. Oversee OPEX expenditure and ensure efficiency projects are tracked and reported. Support local financial operations team on daily processing and compliance with internal controls and procedures. Prepare and submit annual transfer pricing submissions. Compile the Annual Financial Statements. Manage and oversee annual external/internal audits and other required audits. Assist Financial Controller in risk mitigation for bad debts. Custodian of the insurance profile, ensuring sufficient risk cover on assets. Ensure internal control procedures and files are up to date and implemented. Support the finance team in implementing new policies and procedures as new work streams are added. Review customer contracts for risks and profitability. Review financial contracts sent to finance for completeness and risks. Apply for necessary approvals for financial processes. Review balance sheet items (assets and liabilities) prepared by subordinates for quality. Report discrepancies in balance sheet items to Financial Controller. Investigate and resolve discrepancies and inefficiencies. Ensure compliance with JSOX and Stravis requirements. Assist Financial Controller in various financial projects and ad hoc duties. Ensure effective outcomes in various projects. Empower subordinates to achieve project outcomes. Provide accurate reporting and analysis for ad hoc requests. Analyze OPEX and operational bottlenecks. Assist Financial Controller in compiling budgets and forecasts. Compile and analyze Contribution Margin reports. Compile PCR reports for budget and forecast purposes Assist in obtaining the Budget Purchase Plan. Compile variance reports between budgeted/forecasted vs. actual performance. Assist Financial Controller with all other calculations related to the budget. Qualifications and Skills: Completed Bcom in Finance Completed SAIPA articles Experience in a Manufacturing industry would be beneficial Reporting experience in multinational corporations. Experience in people management. Strong understanding of FOREX and imports.

Job Summary

My client is seeking an Associate Finance Controller to join their dynamic team and support their financial operations with accuracy and efficiency. This role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg North. Key Responsibilities: Financial Oversight: Provide financial services to various departments, ensuring efficiency and compliance with internal controls. Accounts & Transactions Management: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Asset Register (FAR), Cashbook (CB), Trial Balance (TB), and Petty Cash. Asset & Expenditure Control: Monitor depreciation, CAPEX, OPEX expenditure, and asset management to drive cost efficiency. Risk Management: Support the Financial Controller in mitigating bad debt risks and ensure adequate insurance coverage on company assets. Contract & Compliance: Review financial contracts for risks, ensure internal controls are maintained, and comply with JSOX and Stravis requirements. Audit & Reporting: Manage annual financial statements, facilitate external/internal audits, and conduct financial analyses to ensure accuracy in reporting. Budget & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, contribution margin reports, and variance analysis. Process Improvement: Support the finance team in implementing new policies, procedures, and operational efficiency projects. Key Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Completed SAIPA Articles. Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
