About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a skilled Senior Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team in Midrand, GP. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and mentoring staff, contributing to projects and architectural planning, and driving initiatives to completion. With a deep understanding of Linux systems and a solid technical background, you will play a crucial role in shaping our client’s technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff.
- Provide technical leadership.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices.
- Drive Initiatives / Projects to completion with relevant team members.
- Drive OS Security Hardening with relevant team members.
- Resolve Service Affecting Incidents & RCAs to completion.
- Monitoring, managing and improving the efficiency of support services.
Requirements
- Grade 12 with Maths & Science (Required)
- Tertiary Education in the ICT industry (Required)
- Tertiary qualification in IT technical field (Essential)
- RHCSA / RHCE or similar qualification in Unix/Linux environment (Required)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related study (Advantageous)
- ITIL Foundation certified (Advantageous)
- Candidate should have a minimum of 15+ years of experience in ICT, with at least 10 years in Unix/Linux System administration (Required)
