About the Role

The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading our luxury travel sales team in Johannesburg, utilizing their extensive experience and knowledge of the travel industry to drive revenue growth and expansion into new markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing high-performing sales teams and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aggressively pursue sales targets for both bed and DMC sales
  • Represent the brand at major sales/trade show events
  • Ensure that you have a detailed understanding of the marketing drivers that drive revenue
  • Create and conduct proposal presentations and responses
  • Assist the market Sales Teams in preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Conduct appropriate follow-up until deals are closed
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a luxury travel environment
  • At least 2 years proven Sales Management track record
  • Applicable Degree/Diploma will be given preference
  • Exposure to world-class sales management/ transformation and digital/e-commerce practices is a distinct advantage
  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding stretch sales targets
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a luxury travel environment will be considered an asset (applicable degree/diploma will be given preference)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our high-end sales team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across rental and sales channels, identifying new market opportunities, and contributing to broader business strategy discussions with the CEO and leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth across rental and sales channels.
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and routes to market (local and international).
  • Analyse sales performance, pricing, conversion rates, and pipeline data to inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to broader business strategy discussions with the CEO and leadership team.
  • Lead and motivate a small sales team, ensuring high performance, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Set sales targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Remain hands-on in key deals, high-value clients, and strategic negotiations.
  • Ensure a strong balance between customer acquisition, retention, and long-term brand positioning.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior sales management role, ideally within luxury, high-value, or premium products.
  • Demonstrable track record of leading sales teams and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience selling complex, high-ticket items (e.g. luxury vehicles, leisure products, property, marine, tourism, or similar).
  • Strong commercial and strategic sales capability.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (degree or equivalent) preferred, but not essential if experience is strong.

Our client is seeking a Sales Manager to lead, coach, and supervise our sales team. This role will be pivotal in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives. The Sales Manager will oversee SDRs (Sales Development Representatives) and Internal Sales Team, and will also participate as a closer when necessary. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership and excellent communication skills Team Leadership Recruit, train, and manage a team of SDRs and Account Executives to meet and exceed sales targets. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance. Sales Strategy & Execution Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand clients customer base and achieve short- and long-term revenue objectives. Monitor key metrics (e.g., pipeline health, conversion rates, average deal size) and adjust tactics to maintain strong sales performance. Pipeline Management Establish and maintain a rigorous pipeline management process, ensuring consistent and accurate forecasting. Collaborate with SDRs to optimize lead generation strategies and engage high-quality prospects. Closing Deals Act as a closer for high-value or strategic deals when necessary, leveraging strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Work closely with Account Executives to refine their closing techniques and improve their success rates. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Marketing to align on demand generation campaigns, lead quality, and sales enablement materials. Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure seamless onboarding and retention of new customers. Reporting & Analytics Track and analyze sales performance, presenting insights and recommendations to the leadership team. Use data to drive decision-making, setting realistic goals, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience : Knowledge and good understanding of the Education & Training space would be beneficial 2 years of experience in B2B sales leadership roles Leadership & Management : Proven success leading SDR and Account Executive teams, including hiring, training, and performance management. Experience designing and implementing sales processes for rapid growth. Closing Skills : Demonstrable experience closing deals, especially in high-value or complex sales scenarios. Strong negotiation, presentation, and proposal development abilities. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills Analytical & Strategic Thinking : Proficiency in analysing sales data, forecasting, and developing actionable insights. A strategic mindset, able to anticipate market changes and adapt sales approaches accordingly.
