About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their team in Clairwood, Durban. A strong analytical mind and sound tax knowledge are essential for driving accurate financial management, supporting strategic planning, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory obligations such as PAYE, VAT, and income tax for both individuals and companies.
- Handle Workmens Compensation filings and renewals.
- Liaise with SARS and other regulatory bodies to resolve any compliance issues or audits.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of financial records through regular general ledger reconciliations and month-end closings.
- Ensure integrity in financial reporting processes and data accuracy.
- Provide strategic input on tax planning to help minimize liabilities.
- Assist with external and internal audits, providing required documentation and insights.
- Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and manage related correspondence.
- Compile detailed financial reports and dashboards for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Interpret financial data, highlighting key trends, risks, and areas for cost optimization.
- Deliver actionable recommendations to support operational and financial improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar accounting or finance role.
- Experience in an accounting firm environment is highly advantageous.
- Proven track record in tax submissions, compliance, and audit preparation.
