About the Role
Pro Tem is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for capturing all financial transactions, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations, while also preparing management accounts, budgets, and ensuring tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Capturing all financial transactions, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Preparing management accounts (profit/loss statements and Balance sheet recons)
- Monitoring spending and guiding departments on spending
- Calculating VAT and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting with audits providing information and support to external auditors
- Utilizing financial management systems (Xero) and other software (FNB banking website) for daily operations and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (BCom or equivalent)
- Professional certifications like SAIPA or globally recognized CPA are advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially advanced features
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero
