About the Role
The Distribution Manager role at Kerston Foods CC is a critical position that oversees and manages the distribution function, with direct accountability for leading a team of Controllers (Dispatch, Distribution and Fleet). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all distribution activities, from route and resource planning, dispatch and delivery, are executed efficiently, safely, cost-effectively, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, guide, and support the team of Controllers who are responsible for the day-to-day management of all route and resource planning and implementation, dispatch and delivery processes.
- Ensure clear role definition, accountability, and performance expectations across the team.
- Conduct regular check-ins with Controllers to review operations, address challenges, and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a similar distribution or logistics management role.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and improving operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret data and drive insights-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
