About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth, efficient production flow across all departments. Your analytical skills and understanding of printing processes will be essential in balancing priorities to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and executing daily and weekly production plans for print and packing operations
  • Planning and balancing manpower across shifts, considering skills availability, leave, and overtime
  • Opening, managing, and closing work orders, ensuring accurate system capture and documentation
  • Coordinating production across flexographic and digital printing machines
  • Planning material usage and availability, including self-adhesive materials, inks, vinyls, ABS, cutting dies, and plates
  • Maintaining accurate departmental registers (testing, cutting dies, plates, materials, and quality)
  • Ensuring that the correct testing methodologies are followed for different substrates
  • Filing production documentation in sequential order for traceability and audit readiness
  • Creating, implementing, and improving production process flows
  • Liaising closely with Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams
  • Managing multiple priorities in a high-pressure manufacturing environment

Requirements

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivots, planning sheets, and reporting)

Strong knowledge of self-adhesive materials, inks, vinyls, and ABS

Understanding of flexographic and digital printing processes

Knowledge of cutting dies and printing plates

Strong numerical ability with confidence in quantities, yields, and variances
