About the Role
The Vineyard Hotel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Group Reservations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our reservations department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that group bookings are maximised and revenue targets are met. Key Responsibilities
- Efficient Group Booking Management: Handle all group reservations within allocated timeframes from enquiry to confirmation, ensuring accuracy and timely collection of payments and rooming lists.
- Revenue Optimisation: Monitor availability and assist in achieving monthly prescribed revenue targets set by hotel management, in accordance with the Hotel’s annual budget.
- Client and Agent Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agents, and corporate accounts.
- Maintaining records and reporting: Provide regular reporting with relevant statistics and insights, and liaise with Sales, Front Office, and Operations to ensure smooth group arrivals and departures.
- Training and mentorship: Train and mentor junior reservationists on systems, procedures, and best practices; provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Escalated queries: Effectively manage any escalated queries that arise in relation to group reservations.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the reservations process, recommend system improvements, and participate in training development.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in a 4/5* hotel reservations environment
- At least 2 years’ handling group bookings, tour series, or event blocks in a senior capacity
- Matric Certificate with a Hotel Management diploma or degree
- Understanding of revenue management
Qualifications
- Basic accounting and computer skills (MS Office, distribution systems, Opera V5.6, and Opera Cloud)
- Clean criminal record
