About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team at an exclusive safari lodge in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. As a key member of our management team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for exceptional guest experiences, combining five-star luxury with the authenticity of the African bush.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cleaning and upkeep of guest suites, lodge interiors, and outdoor relaxation areas.
  • Train, schedule, and lead housekeeping staff, ensuring consistency and morale.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain the lodges luxury standards.
  • Manage stock levels of amenities, cleaning supplies, and linen, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Respond to requests with discretion and efficiency, enhancing the personalized safari experience.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, front-of-house, and maintenance teams for seamless operations.

Requirements

  • Prior management experience in housekeeping within safari lodges or boutique luxury hotels.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a small, close-knit team in a secluded environment.
  • Impeccable eye for presentation, from guest suites to communal lodge spaces.
  • Strong scheduling, inventory control, and staff training capabilities.
  • Warm, professional communication with guests, anticipating needs and resolving concerns.
  • Flexibility to handle challenges unique to a bush lodge (wildlife proximity, limited resources, irregular supply chains).
  • Familiarity with eco-conscious cleaning practices, hygiene regulations, and luxury service expectations.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in hospitality management or a related field is an asset.
