About the Role

A well-established professional accounting firm based in Kenilworth is seeking an experienced and qualified Tax Compliance Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full tax compliance function for a portfolio of medium-sized companies and clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full tax compliance process for a portfolio of clients
  • Preparing and submitting VAT201 returns
  • EMP201 submissions
  • EMP501 reconciliations
  • Provisional tax returns
  • Individual and company income tax returns
  • Capturing and reviewing accounting information on Pastel Accounting
  • Utilizing Greatsoft for workflow management, tax administration, and client communication
  • Liaising directly with SARS regarding client queries, objections, verifications, and audits
  • Maintaining accurate tax records and supporting documentation
  • Assisting clients with tax-related queries and compliance matters
  • Conducting tax calculations and reconciliations
  • Ensuring compliance with current South African tax legislation and regulations
  • Assisting with tax clearances and SARS registrations where required

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • Minimum 4 years proven tax compliance experience within an accounting or professional services environment
  • Experience handling multiple medium-sized company portfolios simultaneously
  • Solid working knowledge of SARS eFiling and South African tax legislation
  • Experience with VAT PAYE Income Tax (Individuals and Companies) Provisional Tax EMP submissions Dividends Tax
