About the Role

The Business Development Manager and License Representative role forms part of a strategic partnership between a licensed financial services provider and a specialist underwriting management business focused on mining guarantee solutions across South Africa and broader African markets. As the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, strengthening strategic relationships, and supporting the ongoing expansion of the Mining Guarantees division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives across South African and African markets
  • Identify new market opportunities and support divisional growth strategies
  • Develop and maintain strong broker, intermediary, and client relationships
  • Support the expansion of distribution channels and partnership opportunities
  • Oversee the quoting and onboarding process for new facilities and policies
  • Participate in credit committee discussions and assist with negotiating facility terms and approvals
  • Analyse sales and quoting trends to improve operational effectiveness

Requirements

  • BCom degree or a related financial qualification
  • FAIS compliant and RE5 completed (ideally)
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role within the Insurance, Guarantees, Surety, Credit or Mining sector
  • Previous experience within the guarantees market will be highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated success in business development, revenue generation, and strategic relationship management
