About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across all entities
- Perform variance analysis and deliver meaningful insights
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations, VAT, and tax requirements
- Oversee AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll functions
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across the group
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls and financial processes
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Partner with operational teams to track and improve performance
- Provide financial input to support strategic decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 35 years experience, ideally within a group or multi-entity environment
- Strong knowledge of VAT and South African tax legislation
- Proven experience in financial reporting and consolidations
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, SAP, or Pastel
- Exposure to cloud-based tools (e.g. Xero, Dext, Syft)
