Job Description

Location: Sunninghill About Roll: A senior IT engineering role for professionals with deep expertise in cloud, AI, and cybersecurity, capable of delivering strategic solutions and mentoring engineering teams. Responsibilities & Expertise: IT Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Deep proficiency in architecting, implementing, and optimizing hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware), advanced networking (SD-WAN, zero-trust), virtualization/containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). Ability to build resilient, high-performance foundations that support AI/ML workloads and intelligent automation at scale. AI & Data Analytics: Hands-on advanced experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn), AI tooling ecosystems, big data platforms (Spark, Databricks, Snowflake), and analytics pipelines. Proven track record of applying AI/ML to deliver predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, intelligent automation, and actionable business intelligence a core differentiator of modern IT provider models. Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth expertise across global and industry standards including GDPR, POPIA (South Africa), HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001/27017/27018, PCI-DSS, and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF/RMF, CIS Controls). Skilled in conducting risk assessments, gap analyses, control implementation, audit preparation, and continuous compliance monitoring in data-intensive, AI-driven environments. Strategic Project Management & Transition Leadership: Proven experience leading enterprise-scale IT transformations and migrations from legacy MSP (reactive/ticket-based) to proactive, intelligence-led models. Strong command of agile/DevOps methodologies, stakeholder engagement, change management frameworks (ADKAR, Kotter), resource planning, and delivery governance to ensure smooth, low-risk transitions. Cybersecurity & Threat Intelligence: Advanced capabilities in proactive threat hunting, incident response, digital forensics, and security operations. Expertise integrating AI-enhanced security tools (next-gen SIEM, ML anomaly detection, EDR/XDR, SOAR automation, deception technology) to deliver intelligence-driven risk mitigation, automated response, and continuous improvement of security posture Additional Expectations: Minimum 10 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 5 years in senior or advanced engineering or architectural roles Ability to operate independently on complex, ambiguous problems while mentoring junior engineers Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and clients South Africa-based, Johannesburg preferred, with eligibility to work in ZA
