About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cold Kitchen Chef to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for preparing and managing cold food displays, ensuring exceptional customer experience and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage cold food displays, including salads, charcuterie, sushi, and buffet items
- Maintain par stocks and control inventory levels to ensure efficient stock management
- Collaborate with chefs, service, and procurement teams to achieve culinary goals
- Implement HACCP principles and maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work flexibly, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) essential
- Reliable transport to and from work
- Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts advantageous
- Minimum of 2 years professional experience in cold kitchen operations
- Proven expertise in cold food preparation
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, storage standards, and HACCP principles
