Position overview:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading and managing the Shared Services Company that provides centralized professional services to a diversified Group of 25+ companies operating primarily in the ICT sector. The Shared Services Company supports group entities across South Africa, Namibia, and Eswatini, with a strong focus on business activities within the municipal and public sector environment.
The CEO will drive operational excellence, governance, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, transformation initiatives, and strategic support to group businesses through the efficient delivery of Accounting, Legal, Compliance and BBBEE services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA, CA(SA), LLB, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 10–15 years senior executive leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading shared services, multi-entity operations, or group corporate services.
  • Strong experience in finance, governance, legal/compliance oversight.
  • Experience in ICT sector highly advantageous.
  • Experience dealing with municipalities, public sector procurement, or state-owned entities essential.
  • Multi-country experience in Southern Africa preferred

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Shared Services Company aligned to overall Group objectives.
  • Build a high-performance service culture that supports 25+ operating companies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, digitisation, cost optimisation, and service expansion.
  • Partner with Group Executives and subsidiary leadership to ensure business alignment.

Financial Management & Accounting Oversight

  • Oversee the centralized accounting and finance functions for the Group entities.
  • Ensure accurate monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage treasury, cash flow planning, tax compliance, and financial controls.
  • Drive efficiency in accounts payable, receivables, payroll coordination, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure audit readiness and successful completion of internal/external audits.

Legal & Contractual Governance

  • Lead the legal services function across the Group.
  • Oversee drafting, review, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts, municipal tenders, SLAs, and supplier agreements.
  • Manage litigation, disputes, and legal risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws in South Africa, Namibia, and Eswatini.

Compliance & Corporate Governance

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Oversee policies, risk management frameworks, delegated authority structures, and governance controls.
  • Maintain compliance with ICT sector regulations, labour laws, procurement frameworks, POPIA, competition laws, and municipal supply chain regulations.

BBBEE & Transformation Leadership

  • Lead the Group’s BBBEE strategy and implementation.
  • Ensure annual verification readiness and optimisation of BBBEE scorecards.
  • Drive enterprise, supplier socio-economic development initiatives.
  • Promote transformation objectives across all group entities.

Regional Oversight (South Africa, Namibia & Eswatini)

  • Ensure consistent service delivery across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee country-specific compliance, labour, tax, and legal obligations.
  • Support regional growth strategies and cross-border operations.

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 30+ employees.
  • Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, ethics, and service excellence.
  • Drive performance management, succession planning, and talent development.

Operational Excellence

  • Implement KPIs, SLAs, dashboards, and service delivery standards.
  • Improve turnaround times and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Introduce systems and automation to improve efficiency.
