Job Description
Assist with feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design for water supply, sanitation, and water resource projects
Design of pipelines, reservoirs, pumping stations, sewer networks and wastewater systems
Hydraulic design including pipe sizing, pump selection and flow analysis
Hydraulic modelling using EPANET (and other modelling software where applicable)
Interpret topographical surveys and geotechnical investigation reports
Compile technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates
Prepare tender documentation, specifications, BOQs and schedules
Support and monitor site construction activities when required
Liaise regularly with project leaders and provide progress reports
Assist with technical drawings, documentation, and construction monitoring
Attend meetings, take minutes and prepare reports
Participate in marketing and business development initiatives
Minimum Requirements :
BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering (ECSA recognised)
2–3 years post-graduate experience
Experience in water supply and sanitation system design
Hydraulic modelling experience (EPANET)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office & MS Project
Strong report writing and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team
Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Advantageous:
Wastewater collection system design experience
Hydraulic modelling using HEC-RAS, WaterCAD or SewerGEMS
Knowledge of municipal and national water regulations
Exposure to PPP projects
Strong technical writing skills
Commitment to professional development and ECSA registration
Special Requirement:
Willingness to travel locally and within Africa as required
Professional Development:
Registration (or willingness to register) as an ECSA Candidate Engineer
