About the Role

Sagen Advisory is seeking an ambitious and adept finance professional to manage and oversee their finance function. This business is backed by high-profile financial investors and offers a great opportunity to join a business on a steep growth curve, adding value and building a career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the company’s daily cash flow and liquidity.
  • Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Identify potential shortfalls or surpluses and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Develop and implement annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
  • Consolidate budgets from all business units to provide a group-wide financial overview.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify variances with corrective action plans.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labour laws.
  • Reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage employee benefit payments and statutory deductions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and payments.
  • Handle tax compliance, including corporate tax and other statutory returns.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Manage banking facilities, credit lines, and financial instruments.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Develop and implement strong internal financial controls.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic financial audits to assess and improve financial processes.

R360,000 R480,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
