About the Role
The Industrial Chemical and Minerals Sales Representative role at Liham Consulting Pty (Ltd) is an exciting opportunity to expand our customer base and drive growth in the minerals and chemicals sector. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for proactively identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with existing customers, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand the minerals and chemicals customer base.
- Expand the product offering into the customer base, with a focus on Industrial Minerals and chemicals.
- Frequently communicate with customers by email, phone call, and face-to-face visits.
- Conduct research and analyze market information obtained to proactively expand customer base.
- Monitor customers’ demands, buying habits, determine forecasts, and create strategic approaches to accommodate for it.
- Monitor suppliers and market share tendencies, import and export trends, and market price.
- Negotiate contracts with customers within the limits of authority.
- Compile and present quotes, follow up, and close deals.
- Successfully negotiate commercial terms with customers through support from finance department.
- Facilitate the sales process from beginning to end with other staff members.
- Attend to stock takes as and when required.
- Quality: Collection and delivery of samples.
- Travel to all SA provinces as and when required to grow regional customer base.
Requirements
- Minimum Matric qualification.
- Any tertiary education is an advantage.
- 2-5 years sales experience in the Minerals/Chemicals sector (highly advantageous).
- Success in growing customers and products in previous roles.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Excellent command of MS Office applications, Excel, and formulas.
- Effective in internal and external communication and across various cultures.
- Team player, solution-oriented, flexible, and able to multi-task.
- Advanced planning, organization, and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of logistics and operations.
- Knowledge of selling across the African Continent.
- Understanding of import/export principles.
