About the Role
The Stock Controller is a critical role within our manufacturing environment, responsible for managing and controlling all stock from raw materials through to finished goods. This position requires strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Raw Material Control: Ensure correct and timely receipt, identification, and storage of all incoming raw materials.
- Work-in-Progress (WIP) Monitoring: Track movement of stock throughout the production process to ensure continuous availability and prevent production downtime.
- Finished Product Reporting: Verify and capture finished goods data and prepare reports for internal use.
- Stock Auditing: Perform regular cycle counts and participate in full stock takes. Investigate discrepancies and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Consumables and Maintenance Stock Control: Monitor and maintain minimum stock levels for consumables and maintenance spare parts. Liaise with procurement to reorder when levels reach reorder points.
- Barcoding & Inventory Systems: Ensure all stock movements are captured via the system and labels are properly managed.
Requirements
Proven experience in stock/inventory control or similar role in a manufacturing / production environment is required. Good understanding of materials flow from receipt to dispatch is essential. Computer literacy with experience in ERP systems; barcoding system experience is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy are necessary. Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment is also required.
