About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Concession Operations Manager to oversee multiple camps within a reputable safari concession in South Africa. As a senior operational leader, you will be responsible for driving service standards, operational performance, and financial accountability across the concession, while mentoring camp leadership and ensuring alignment across camps.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and oversight across multiple camps within the concession
- Mentor and support Camp Managers and lodge leadership teams
- Drive improvements in guest experience and service standards across camps
- Ensure strong HR processes including recruitment support, staff development, performance management, and staff welfare
- Oversee staffing structures and ensure optimal camp team performance
- Monitor operational systems, standards, and compliance across camps
- Manage operational budgets and ensure responsible expenditure control
- Oversee preventative maintenance planning and asset management
- Implement environmental and sustainability policies across operations
- Maintain strong communication between camp teams and senior leadership
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior lodge or hospitality operations
- Strong leadership background within luxury safari or remote hospitality environments
- Proven experience managing teams and driving HR processes and staff development
- Strong operational, organisational, and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel extensively between camps and work effectively in remote environments
