About the Role
The Accountant Supervisor role at Communicate Finance involves reviewing and processing monthly draft trial balances, preparing management reports with detailed analysis, and automating reports to improve efficiency and accuracy. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying risks impacting distribution channels, assisting with implementing mitigating controls, and presenting financial reports to executive-level stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process monthly draft trial balances
- Prepare monthly management reports with detailed analysis
- Prepare, load and release daily payments, including review of supporting schedules
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Identify risks impacting distribution channels and assist with implementing mitigating controls
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Produce ad hoc reports and support finance-led projects (e.g. IFRS-related initiatives)
- Automate reports where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with external and internal audit processes
- Present financial reports and analysis to executive-level stakeholders
- Support the understanding and implementation of commission and agreement structures
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within financial services
- Exposure to the insurance industry is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Able to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong work ethic with a proactive, accountable mindset
Qualifications
BCom Degree in Accounting OR Finance OR related field – essential
