About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our facilities team as an Assistant to the Utilities Manager in Johannesburg. As the first point of contact for tenant utility-related queries, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication and resolving issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct electricity and water meter readings across buildings
  • Capture and populate consumption data accurately
  • Assist in identifying irregular usage trends
  • Support generator and backup system monitoring
  • Assist with reporting to management
  • Tenant Liaison: Respond to tenant utility-related queries
  • Draft professional correspondence to tenants
  • Communicate planned outages and maintenance schedules
  • Escalate sensitive matters appropriately

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • A formal qualification (advantageous)
  • At least 3 years experience in property, facilities, utilities or building operations
  • Proven experience taking electricity and water meter readings
  • Basic understanding of commercial electricity and water systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Valid drivers license (essential)
  • Must be willing to travel between properties
