About the Role
CHM Plastics is seeking a highly skilled Centurion: Bookkeeper/Pastel Operator to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. If you have a strong background in bookkeeping, Pastel Accounting, and excellent analytical skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Full bookkeeping function from source documents to Trial Balance
- Daily processing and capturing of financial transactions on Pastel
- General ledger maintenance and journal entries
- Bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly Trial Balance
- Assist with year-end audit preparations
- Invoicing & Debtors Control
- Issuing customer invoices
- Following up on outstanding payments
- Maintaining accurate debtor accounts
- Processing credit notes where applicable
- Creditors & Purchase Orders
- Processing supplier invoices
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
- Preparing and reconciling creditor reconciliations
- Loading and preparing payment schedules
- Managing purchase order system
- Reporting
- Monthly financial reports
- Cash flow reporting
- Expense tracking and analysis
- Ad hoc management reports as required
- Administrative Duties
- Filing and document management
- Maintaining financial records
- Assisting with general office administration
- Supporting management with financial information
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper / Pastel Operator
- Strong working knowledge of Pastel Accounting (Sage Pastel)
- Experience processing up to Trial Balance
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
- Strong reconciliation skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
