About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control Manager to join our team in Midrand. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting daily site walk-downs to verify cable tray installations, labelling, snags and general project progress
  • Reviewing, Approving and Compiling ‘Quality Data Books’ for final handover to the client
  • Document Control by Collecting, Scanning, Uploading and Returning Data books to site and Loaded on Company Server
  • Maintaining Portfolio of Photographic Evidence by Taking, Sorting and Uploading In Progress, Snag and As Build-Photos to Company Server
  • Updating and Maintaining Project Progress Tracker with regards to Documentation Status, Location and Completion
  • Ensuring all test instruments (multimeters, etc.) have valid, up-to-date SANAS-accredited calibration certificates
  • Technical Inspections and Verification of Materials: Ensure all components (breakers, cabling, enclosures) carry the SABS or SANS mark of approval before installation
  • Documentation & Compliance :
  • ITP Execution: Manage the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), ensuring every “Hold Point” is witnessed and signed off by the client or project manager, ensure all Test certificates is completed, signed and uploaded to company server after completion.
  • Defect Management: Identify defects, notify Site Manager and verify that the “re-work” meets the required standard and record via before and after photographs
  • Site Supervision & Safety:
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by electrical installations teams to prevent “shoddy” work before it is hidden behind walls, underground or closed-up
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work adheres to the Electrical Installation Regulations (EIR) of the OHS Act

Requirements

  • Matric
  • Electrical qualification (Trade Test / National Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering)
  • Strong knowledge of SANS and SABS
  • 3–5 years’ experience in electrical installations or quality control
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
