About the Role
A reputable safari lodge near Pretoria, Gauteng is seeking a passionate and energetic Field Guide to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct professional guided game drives in line with reserve safety standards
- Deliver engaging, informative, and memorable guest experiences
- Share extensive knowledge of wildlife, birdlife, flora, and ecosystems
- Manage sightings ethically and maintain responsible viewing etiquette
- Perform daily vehicle inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance
- Assist with reserve operations when required
- Ensure guest safety and uphold lodge service standards
- Report unusual animal behaviour or operational concerns
Requirements
- FGASA Level 1 or higher
- Valid First Aid Level 1
- SASETTA / CATHSSETA-accredited Rifle Handling
- Valid Drivers Licence + PDP
- DEAT/THETA registration (advantageous)
- Previous guiding experience in a Big 5 or similar reserve (preferred)
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills
