About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer in our Africa Region Operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-confidence releases within an Agile environment. You will define and execute test strategies across features, services, and customer journeys to drive quality assurance and deliver exceptional software experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain test plans, cases, and evidence aligned with delivery cadences.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across web, mobile, and backend components.
- Establish and grow API, UI, and service-level automation; integrate these into CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with engineering to validate security controls (OWASP-aligned) and ensure compliance with payment industry standards (PCI DSS).
- Drive performance, reliability, and observability validation.
- Manage the full defect lifecycle, including triage, root-cause analysis, and verification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- ISTQB-aligned knowledge.
- Fintech/payments domain exposure.
- Experience in continuous delivery environments.
- Practical knowledge of the full SDLC, version control (Git), and data-driven API testing (payloads, contracts, and error handling).
- Familiarity with web application security testing guidance such as OWASP WSTG and ASVS.
