About the Role
As a Safety Officer Intern, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our team members. You will assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and risk assessments, while also supporting incident reporting and investigation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Help maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Support incident reporting and investigation processes.
- Participate in drafting safety notices, checklists, and training materials.
- Monitor PPE usage and assist in safety awareness campaigns.
- Maintain safety records and assist with audits.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of OHSA and workplace safety standards.
- Strong observation and reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate safety requirements clearly.
- Proficiency in MS Office for documentation.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious mindset.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role. However, a certificate or diploma in Health & Safety or SAMTRAC is highly recommended.
