About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated Proposal Engineer with a strong background in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technology to join our team at Hire Resolve. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in preparing and developing proposals for BESS projects, support the sales team, and contribute to achieving business growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs using Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Review and analyze Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, specifications, and technical requirements to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including technical scope, equipment selection, system design, cost calculations, project schedule, and risk assessment.
• Work closely with various internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and project management, to ensure alignment and coordination during the proposal development process.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders to identify suitable equipment, materials, and services for the proposed solutions.
• Coordinate and lead technical discussions, meetings, and presentations with clients to explain proposal details, address inquiries, and provide technical support.
• Collaborate with the operations team to transition proposals into project execution, ensuring a smooth handover and maintaining continuity.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, advancements in BESS technology, and regulatory requirements to enhance proposal development strategies and stay competitive in the market.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal development processes, tools, and templates.
• Provide support and technical expertise to the sales team during project bidding processes, including attending site visits, conducting technical assessments, and estimating project costs.
• Take part in post-proposal activities like client meetings, negotiations, and clarifications.

Requirements

• Honours degree in Engineering/Postgraduate Diploma/4 year degree
• 5 years working experience
• Proven experience and knowledge in Electrical Design and Project Management
• Knowledge of SAP, the OHS Act, Electrical Market and ISO Standards
• Proficient in using design and analysis tools including AutoCAD and solar design software like Helioscope
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Renewable energy or solar experience
• Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
• Experience with PVSyst or other commercial solar, wind or building energy modelling
• Familiarity with project budgeting, costing, and financial analysis.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
