About the Role
Hire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is representing their client in search of a Professional Civil Engineer Technologist to play a key role in road and water infrastructure projects with flexibility to work from either Durban or Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage road and water infrastructure projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, site investigations, and construction supervision.
- Collaborate with clients, government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and inspections to verify compliance with design standards and specifications.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues associated with projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technologists, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, reports, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PR Eng) or Professional Technologist (PR Tech) with ECSA.
- Proven experience in civil engineering project management, specifically in road and water infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, or similar design software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of relevant South African regulations, codes, and standards in civil engineering and construction.
