About the Role
Fusion Personnel is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join our team in the East Rand region. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing detailed manufacturing plans, ensuring accurate production execution, and driving process improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage detailed manufacturing plans for parts, including conversion of Planned Orders into Production Orders
- Perform all relevant maintenance, updates, and associated actions to ensure accurate production execution
- Maintain and manage the master production schedule and achieve production planning KPIs
- Monitor machine capacity and loadings, resolving poor loadings and capacity constraints
- Oversee creation and management of routings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Engineering data
- Manage NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), reducing turnaround time and ensuring execution
- Conduct MRP cleanup and resolve MRP date errors
- Coordinate and implement process improvement initiatives to reduce costs, lead times, and enhance product quality
- Ensure full material consumption upon job closure
- Convert planned orders into production orders, issuing necessary documentation and drawings
- Validate drawings, tolerances, and routings before release to production
- Execute and communicate changes from Sales, Engineering, or Quality affecting production orders
- Manage scrap and rework orders as directed by Quality
- Adjust work centers as required by production needs
- Review completed production orders to ensure accurate time logging, material consumption, and prevent additional demand
- Compile actual vs. standard time data for performance measurement
- Prepare and submit production status and performance reports to management in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies
Requirements
- Matric
- Diploma / Degree (Highly Advantageous)
- 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry
- MS Office & SAP (Highly Advantageous)
- Strong leadership skills (3 – 5 direct reports)
