About the Role
Network Contracting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to lead our maintenance function across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and efficiency. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of foremen, technicians, and artisans to drive plant performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the maintenance function across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and efficiency
- Supervise and coordinate a team of foremen, technicians, and artisans
- Ensure electrical and mechanical equipment readiness, minimising downtime and production interruptions
- Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance systems
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Manage and execute CAPEX projects, including installation, commissioning, and optimisation of new equipment
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, maintenance standards, and audit requirements
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve plant performance and reliability
- Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and KPI tracking
Requirements
- BTech or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (non-negotiable)
- South African candidates will be given preference
- Candidates who have a GCC Factories or who are in the process to write their GCC will be given preference
- 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging preferred)
- Proven experience managing electrical and mechanical foremen and maintenance teams
- Strong exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems in a production environment
- Demonstrated experience in CAPEX project execution and equipment installation
- Solid understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement
- Experience working with automated production lines and high-speed equipment
