About the Role
Our client in George is hiring a Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of a retail store. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining overall store efficiency and profitability. This role requires a hands-on leader who can motivate a team and take initiative in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure smooth functioning
- Manage, lead, and motivate store staff
- Drive sales and achieve store targets
- Ensure excellent customer service at all times
- Manage stock control, receiving, and merchandising
- Handle cash-up procedures and basic financial reporting
- Maintain store presentation and cleanliness standards
- Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally
- Implement company policies and procedures
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback
Requirements
- Previous experience in a retail management or supervisory role
- Strong leadership skills
- Good understanding of the retail environment
- Hardworking, reliable, and results-driven
- Initiative-taking (“go-getter” attitude)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work retail hours, including every second Saturday
- Basic computer literacy (POS systems, MS Office advantage)
- Grade 12 (Matric) advantageous
