About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Draughtsman to join our team in Pretoria-East. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, as well as assisting with project management and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Draughting: Execution of design tasks within the parameters and interfaces set by the Chief Designer or Senior Design Engineer
- Prepare Solid Models of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, using the business file structure guidelines and number protocol
- Prepare detailed layout and manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies
- Test and Evaluation: assist during the building and testing of prototypes
- Project Management: Production support, capturing of red-line drawings during the building and prototype phase
Requirements
- Minimum of professional drafting credentials
- 2 â 6 years of drafting experience in the automotive field
- Previous experience in the military vehicle environment would be greatly advantageous
- Onshape and SolidWorks preferred or relevant CAD package
- SolidWorks PDM or relevant PDM system
- Microsoft Office
