About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to act as the daily custodian of our boutique hotel in Plettenberg Bay. As a natural host who understands that true luxury is felt rather than announced, you will lead the property with a warm, personal and unpretentious atmosphere while maintaining an international standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure each guest journey is seamless, composed and quietly exceptional
- Protect the aesthetic integrity of the estate
- Set the cultural tone for the team
- Represent the owners on site with sound judgement and discretion
- Manage daily operations to ensure smooth service delivery
- Increase room revenue through effective sales and marketing strategies
Requirements
- Business degree or hotel/hospitality management qualification (highly beneficial)
- Minimum of 5 years hotel/hospitality experience in a senior position (essential) – preferably GM/Asst GM
- Strong financial acumen, strong commercial flair with a sense of entrepreneurship
- Strong leadership skills
- Critical attention to detail in standards
- Good F&B knowledge
- Excellent sales and marketing experience
- Strong focus on increasing room revenue
- Self-starter with strong business acumen that can deliver results in tough times
