About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our award-winning 5-star boutique hotel and spa in Plettenberg Bay. As part of a respected boutique hospitality group with properties across South Africa, this intimate property offers guests a refined coastal experience with a strong emphasis on personalised service, exceptional food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be an authentic, values-driven leader who leads with humility and inspires their team to do the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Full general management of all hotel departments and day-to-day operations
- Financial management including budget oversight, forecasting, and reporting
- HR leadership including staffing, leave, training, performance management, and development
- Relationship building with staff, guests, agents, the local community, and industry partners
- Drive product development and continuously elevate the guest experience across all touchpoints
- Custodian of all operational equipment and lodge assets
- Implement and uphold health, safety, and sustainability standards
- Champion the group’s values and culture throughout the team and operation
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a senior management role within luxury boutique hospitality
- Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification
- Strong financial acumen – budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a close-knit team
- Sound knowledge of HR legislation and practices
- Experience hosting agents, media, and VIP guests
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in hospitality

Salary & Benefits
- Gross Salary: R50,000 to R60,000 per month (DOE & NEG)
