About the Role
A well-established 4* Hotel in Plettenberg Bay is seeking a hands-on and energetic Deputy General Manager to support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the property. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident leading both Front of House and Back of House teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the overall operation of the hotel
- Lead and manage FOH and BOH teams, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Maintain high standards of guest service and satisfaction
- Handle guest queries, complaints and service recovery professionally
- Oversee staff scheduling, performance and daily supervision
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and operational standards
- Monitor operational efficiency, stock control and cost management
- Assist with training, development and team motivation
- Step in to manage the hotel in the absence of the General Manager
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hotel supervisory or management role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to be involved in all areas of the business
- Energetic, positive and solution-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy hospitality environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
