South Africa: Cost Accountant

About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Cost Accountant to join our team on-site at an established manufacturing business. This role goes beyond reporting numbers, and we’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, proactive, and solutions-driven. If you enjoy getting stuck into operations, understanding how a factory really works, and influencing how things are done, this could be the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of the full costing function across a busy manufacturing environment
  • Analysing costs, margins, and variances to support better decision-making
  • Working closely with production and operations teams to understand processes and identify improvements
  • Managing inventory, stock counts, and production-related reporting
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting across the business
  • Driving process improvements and efficiency initiatives
  • Contributing to reporting packs and operational insights

Requirements

  • BCom Accounting / CIMA (or in progress)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of costing, BOMs, and variance analysis
  • Experience working with ERP systems
