About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Field Guide for a prestigious game reserve located in KwaZulu-Natal. This role is perfect for a dynamic and knowledgeable individual looking to offer an immersive wildlife experience while actively contributing to conservation and research projects on the reserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding wildlife experiences by showcasing the rich biodiversity of the reserve
- Maintain clear communication with lodge managers regarding guest needs, preferences, and feedback
- Contribute to conservation and research initiatives within the reserve
- Represent a positive attitude towards the natural environment and the broader world
- Maintain high safety standards for guests, staff, and wildlife
- Ensure upkeep and care of game vehicles and related equipment
- Conduct informative and engaging bush walks and game drives
- Participate in continuous self-development and skill enhancement
- Contribute to social media platforms and guest engagement
- Maintain trails and ensure accessibility and safety
- Support lodge operations with administrative duties as required
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional guide
Grade 12 certificate
FGASA Level 1 Certificate (minimum)
Cathseta NQF Level 2
Valid PDP license and 4×4 driving experience
Registered Tour Guide with the National Department of Tourism
First Aid Level 1 or Wilderness First Aid Level 1
Tertiary qualification in natural sciences (advantageous)
Computer literate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work well under pressure, both independently and in a team
