About the Role
As a Senior Mining Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert technical mining planning services to clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality outputs on time. Your expertise in block modelling, mine design, and equipment selection will be essential in driving business growth and delivering value to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing technical mining planning tasks and outputs on an expert level
- Sourcing geological information and converting it into mining models
- Block modelling & re-blocking
- Perform Mining Studies (MWP, LOM, MTP, STP, Scoping/Concept, PFS, BFS)
- Pit/Stope Optimisation Mine Design Mine Scheduling Equipment Selection / Optimisation Mine Cost Modelling Due Diligence Studies and Technical Audits
- Mining Rights and Prospecting Permit Application Operation Support On-site planning & contractor management Productivity Improvement Equipment Usage Improvement Mining Operational Readiness Trade-off studies / Options analysis
- Lead and own Projects Multiple projects involvement
- Provide Mining related Inputs for Financial Modelling
- Prepare Technical Reports and CPR’s
- Utilize service offering toolkits and competency Training, developing and mentoring team members
- Facilitate Workshops
Requirements
- Qualifications:
- BEng Mining Engineering
- Experience:
- 10 years related experience
- Preferable:
- Consulting experience of at least 2 years
- Proficiency in Mining Software (e.g., Surpac, Deswik, MineRP)
- Experienced in all project and operational phases
- Ability to build Client relationships
- Entrepreneurial and Commercial Thinking
- Ability to use initiative and assume responsibility with an innovative mindset
- Organised and structured
- Strong focus on producing results
