About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join our team, where you will have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather data from POS, ERP, CRM, inventory, and finance systems
- Clean, validate, and prepare datasets for reporting and analysis
- Maintain data integrity and assist in troubleshooting data issues
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports (sales, stock, margin, shrinkage, promotions, etc.)
- Create dashboards and visualisations using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools
- Support the development of automated reporting processes
- Analyse sales trends, customer purchasing patterns, and product performance
- Identify areas of inefficiency, stock risks, or revenue opportunities
- Cross-functional collaboration with merchandising, supply chain, operations, and finance teams
- Data governance to ensure sensitive business data is handled ethically and securely
Requirements
- Minimum Matric or relevant NQF qualification
- Qualification in computer science or similar field
- Newly graduated with 1 year experience within a similar position
- Experience in wholesale or retail analytics (internships included)
- Exposure to ERP or POS systems (SAP, Oracle Retail, SAGE, or similar software)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar software)
- Basic knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
